RoleReady

The interview journey

Practise a real conversation, then give your next attempt a clear purpose.

RoleReady brings your background, target roles, spoken answers, and coaching feedback into one practice loop. You get a place to work through questions before an employer asks them, with time afterwards to understand what needs attention.

You do not need a polished script to begin. Bring an honest account of what you have studied, built, tried, or worked on, and let the conversation reveal where your explanation is clear and where it needs more work.

Your first mock, step by step

The setup is shared across free and detailed mocks. The main differences are the length of the conversation and the depth of feedback.

1. Set your interview direction

Sign in with Google and confirm that you are 18 or older. Add your qualification, academic stream, and up to five target industry roles. Your profile gives the interviewer a starting point for questions relevant to your background.

Choose roles you would seriously apply for. A clear direction helps you practise explaining why your education, projects, and practical skills fit the work.

2. Choose your practice round

Use the one lifetime free mock for an introductory conversation of about five minutes and an overall readiness score. A detailed mock gives you up to 30 minutes and the full six-dimension coaching report.

Your available paid mocks and interview history follow your Google account across web and Android. Check that you are using the same account on both.

3. Prepare your devices and space

Allow camera and microphone permissions and complete the device check. Sit somewhere quiet, place your camera at a comfortable height, and make sure your face is visible in steady light. Headphones can reduce speaker echo.

Keep your device charged and use a stable connection. Close applications that may already be using the camera or microphone before you start.

4. Speak from your own experience

Expect a spoken conversation relevant to your background and the roles you want to pursue. Explain your experience in your own words and take the time to reason through unfamiliar questions.

Explain what you personally did, why you made a decision, and what happened. If you have no work experience, use coursework, college projects, volunteering, or hands-on training.

5. Finish saving before you leave

When the interview ends, wait for saving to complete and the report screen to open. If saving fails, keep the session open and use Retry Saving when it is offered.

Leaving before saving completes can discard unsaved media. Once the report screen opens, your report is prepared in the background and you can leave the page.

6. Turn feedback into your next goal

Open the report from your interview history. Review your score, strengths, and improvement areas; detailed mocks include the full category breakdown. A report email follows evaluation, and registered Android devices can receive a notification.

Choose one or two changes to work on before your next mock. Later interviews can draw on earlier feedback, helping you revisit weak topics and develop stronger ones.

What makes the questions relevant to you?

Your stream and roles provide context, but your answers give that context substance. A candidate who works with spreadsheets can explain a reporting workflow; a candidate who builds applications can describe an implementation decision; a teaching candidate can discuss lesson planning and learner needs.

Practise answering follow-ups, explaining a trade-off, or discussing what you would do when a task does not go as planned. The aim is to give you space to develop explanations you can use confidently in a real interview.

Try this before you start

Write three short notes: one project or task you know well, the tools you actually used, and one difficulty you had to resolve. Use the notes to recall your experience rather than reading a prepared speech.
